∙ There are possibilities of ulceration on lips/cheeks/tongue due to irritation from wire or brackets. ∙ Take medicines as mentioned below if you find any ulcerations

To be applied on ulcer 2 times a day.
∙ Due to teeth movement, there are chances that wire may come out from back side and may injure the tissues of cheek. In that case consult dentist as soon as possible.
∙ If you find that wire or bracket has come out then consult dentist.
∙ Take extra care of teeth and brush twice a day while undergoing orthodontic treatment. ∙ After placement of wire/brackets on teeth there will be mild pain or discomfort for 5 to 7 days. Start above mention medicines if required.
∙ Pain persists for 3-4 days when the wire is changed during treatment which is normal. ∙ Do not eat hard or sticky food otherwise bracket may come out.
∙ The retainer plays an important role after orthodontic treatment; if the retainer is not worn then the teeth may move back to their original position.
∙ One should complete remaining dental treatment advised by your dentist without failure to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
∙ Annual dental check-up is must and if treatment is needed, it should be completed as per the doctor’s advice because prevention is better than cure.
