1. If anesthesia given effect of local anesthesia will remain at the site of extraction for 2-3 hours till that do  not chew from that site and avoid speaking to prevent cheek/lip/tongue bite.
  2. All foods like hard, sour, cold and hot can be taken after 10 minutes.
  3. Normal sensitivity in the teeth can occur for 3 to 4 days after filling but if the pain and sensitivity lasts  for a longer time, consult a doctor.
  4. Consult a doctor immediately, if cement seems to interfere while chewing food.
  5. Cement filling will stop further spread of cavity in that tooth but if you do not clean your teeth and gums  properly, cavity can spread again under the filling also.
  6. Cement can dislodge sometimes while chewing sticky foods like chocolate, fig etc… If cement comes  out, get it filled again which costs separately for new filling.
  7. If the cement is filled in the centre part of the tooth, there is a negligible chance of removal of cement  but if the cement is filled in the side wall of the tooth or on the grooves which are made by faulty  brushing technique, there is a possibility of cement comes out sometimes.
  8. Just as natural teeth, cement also wears off by the time so don’t expect that cement will stay a lifelong.  9. One should complete remaining dental treatment advised by your dentist without failure to keep your  teeth and gums healthy.
  9. Perform annual dental checkups to prevent tooth decay at an early stage by filling with cement or silver and avoid costly and lengthy treatment like root canal, cap.
